Hull defeat wasteful Wigan
Hull snapped their three-game losing streak with a 39-26 victory over Wigan on Saturday.
Steve Michaels (2), Mark Minichiello and Danny Houghton scored, before Tom Davies crossed to cut the deficit to 26-4.
Tries from Liam Marshall and Lewis Tierney brought Wigan back in it, but Hull’s Jamie Shaul and Albert Kelly added further scores to put the game beyond doubt.
Joe Burgess, Marshall and Davies crossed late on for the Warriors to give the scoreline a closer look, but the home side’s efficiency with the boot proved to be the difference with Wigan’s five missed conversion attempts costing them dearly.
The result moved Hull back up to fourth in the table, with Wigan staying sixth just a point ahead of St Helens.
