Moore debut delights Rams’ boss
Dewsbury boss Neil Kelly praised the influence of new signing Gareth Moore as the Rams recorded a 38-12 victory over Bradford on Sunday.
Moore produced a superb performance on his debut for the club, leading the Rams to a crucial win over their relegation rivals.
Kelly told the club’s official website: “I thought we got the rewards that our work and endeavour deserved.
“Our completion rate was good – I think it was 77 percent in the end – and you’re always going to be competitive when you’re turning that in.
“That’s the value of having players on the field that can steer us around, which has possibly been lacking previously.
“I don’t think we’ve ever been lacking hard work or effort, but we needed a bit of direction, and I think Gareth, Paul Sykes and Dom Speakman did that for us. I couldn’t be happier at the moment.
“We’ve beaten Bradford Bulls, so it’s a win against a team other than Batley, and it’s the first time we’ve put back-to-back wins together this year.
“London next is another game. We’ll enjoy this win, and put this game to bed, and look at what we can do to improve, what we need to keep.
“We’ll look at what we need to do this weekend as this week progresses.
“We’ve always got one eye on the Super 8s because our league position hasn’t been very healthy.
“But this has been a great win for us. We’ve moved on to six points and we’re getting into the pack, and I’m confident that we can get to the front of that pack.
“While ever we are working like this and respecting the basics of the game then I think we will have a chance.”
