Sheens: Oldham test will be tough

Hull KR head coach Tim Sheens is expecting another tough test when his team visit Oldham on Sunday.

Rovers have had close games against Bradford and Featherstone in recent weeks and Sheens believes the Roughyeds will be eager to turn over the Championship leaders.

“Although the scoreline wouldn’t say so, Oldham gave us a tough game earlier on in the season,” he told the club’s official website.

“This is at their place – it’s a smaller ground with a bit of a hill, so it’s the usual kind of tests we’re facing away from home this season and it will tough once again.

“Our last two games have been tight, with the draw against Featherstone and the narrow win against Bradford. That’s worrying me a little bit, but take nothing away from the opposition on both of those occasions who played well.

“We’ve had a slightly longer week this week in terms of having three training sessions to prepare rather than the two we had last week when we gave the players a few days off.

“We’ve had three very good sessions and I’ve been happy with the intensity of training and the things we’ve done. I’m confident in those preparations and we hope to turn that into a strong performance on Sunday.”
