Toovey dismisses Bulls relegation talk
Geoff Toovey says Bradford are not thinking about relegation ahead of Sunday’s home game against Oldham.
The Bulls remain rooted to the foot of the Championship having lost their last nine games, but Toovey insists the club’s fortunes will improve.
“We really have to take our opportunities this time,” he told the club’s official website.
“We let two or three chances go by against Rochdale and we can’t afford to let these chances slip anymore, we need to score points, and we need to come out with the two points this Sunday.
“It’s a must win sort-of situation that we have been in for a while now. We need to do what we can to get as many points as possible to stay afloat, but we are not even thinking of the ‘R’ word.
“The boys have to learn through experience – it has been a tough year for them, especially the last couple of months. They are working non-stop, constantly wanting to work on areas they can improve on.
“They are a very inexperienced side, but they have been taking on things that I have been telling them in training, but as much as they try you can’t manufacture experience.
“Stick with us and stay positive. Keep following the side and we will turn things around – we are working hard and putting our shoulder to the wheel and doing what we need to do to be the best that we can be.”
