Hallas signs permanent Bulls deal

Sam Hallas has signed a contract with Bradford Bulls until the end of the 2019 season.

Hallas initially joined the Bulls on a one month loan from Leeds at the start of the current campaign, before extending the deal on a week-by-week basis.

The 20-year-old has impressed during his time with the club and even stepped into the captaincy role during Scott Moore’s absence.

“The Bulls is a massive club and the fact that they see me in their long-term plans with someone like Geoff Toovey is a really big thing for me,” said Hallas.

“It shows that he has belief in me and the things that I can do, so all that I can do is try to repay him.

“Being captain was a really good experience for me, a really big achievement that I will take with me throughout my career.

“Playing big minutes is something that I always felt was a part of my game, but I’ve never really had the chance to do it.

“Now I’m pretty much playing eighty minutes week in, week out, and I feel I am doing it comfortably, so the more minutes I get the better it is for me.

“I like the responsibility aspect of it, I like to try my best to lead by example and do the right thing both on and off the field, so to have that responsibility is a real big thing for me.

“I’m only 20-years-old so I’m going to make mistakes, but I am not afraid to make them. As long as I learn from them and conduct myself properly when they do happen, then it can only benefit me.

“This is a great opportunity for me and to test my abilities. While I have been here on loan I have felt at home and I’ve learnt a lot off some really experienced people. Coming on full-time concretes that and gives me a better feeling of stability.

“I’m excited for what the future holds with this club.”
