Calvert to bow out at Whitehaven
Long serving winger Craig Calvert is set to make his final league appearance for Whitehaven against derby rivals Workington this weekend.
Calvert, 32, is set to hang up his boots at the end of the season after a stellar career that has seen him become the club’s record try scorer.
He passed David Seeds’ previous record of 225 in May 2016 and decided to continue playing in 2017.
This season he has managed six tries in 16 appearances for the Cumbrians, who are still in contention for promotion to the Championship.
A celebration will be held at the JJ Bar following the game against Workington on Sunday.
