Cramlington Rockets Launch Healthy Eating Partnership

Rockets Community, the community arm of RFL Club of the Year, Cramlington Rockets has launched a new partnership with Nando’s.

Designed to educate local school children on healthy eating, all of the Rockets’ partner schools are able to access a free, fun interactive workshop in Nando’s Cramlington branch.

Popular with everyone from professional to aspiring rugby players, the Portuguese chicken chain prides itself on its fresh ingredients and is only to happy to throw open their doors to local schools to encourage pupils to learn more about maintaining a
healthy diet.

“We both share common values” said community manager, Steve Beaty “We are both proud to represent Cramlington and want to give those that live here a positive and healthy experience.

“Since Nando’s joined us as a community partner, we have been delighted with how the relationship has developed and this is the latest in a number of ways we have worked together.

“Cramlington Village Primary School were the first to try the new workshops and all the kids had big smiles on their faces while going behind the scenes to see how they prepare the food.

“We have about a dozen schools signed up so far with space to accommodate plenty more.”

Nando’s assistant manager, Daniel Nesbitt said: “It’s great to see so many local kids learning about how to prepare food and eat healthy. We pride ourselves on our ingredients and the range of our menu.

Not every day can be chip day and we’re really pleased to promote the importance of a balanced diet and we’re looking forward to welcoming more kids with the help of the Rockets.”
