Challenge Cup semi-final draws made with Wembley in sight
The semi-final draws for the men’s and women’s Challenge Cups have been made, with Wembley just 80 minutes away.
The semi-final draws took place at half-time of the last-eight clash between St Helens and Warrington Wolves on Sunday afternoon, live on BBC Two, with the Wolves going on to clinch an impressive 31-8 victory at the Totally Wicked Stadium.
Sam Burgess’ Wire side will meet Huddersfield Giants in the semi-finals on either Saturday 18 or Sunday 19 May, with further details to be confirmed in due course.
Meanwhile, Hull KR won the rematch of last year’s final against Leigh Leopards and will face world champions Wigan Warriors in the semis, with the latter demolishing a depleted Castleford Tigers 60-6 at the Jungle. That is a re-run of last year’s semi-final clash between the same two.
The semi-finals of both the men’s and women’s competitions will be played as double-headers over the weekend of Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 of May.
The Rugby Football League say venues and ticketing arrangements will be announced as early as possible this week, with seven clubs and eight teams involved in the semi-finals across the men’s and women’s competitions.
