Ridyard: ‘Featherstone are capable of achieving great things’
Martyn Ridyard believes Featherstone Rovers can reach new highs in 2018.
The 31-year-old joined the Rovers from Championship rivals Leigh Centurions in the off-season and played his first game for the club on Boxing Day, helping them defeat League Leaders’ Shield winners Castleford Tigers.
And the half-back thinks the Rovers can go above and beyond this season.
He told featherstonerovers.co.uk: “It was good to get some game-time under the belt, having trained really hard for a couple of months.
“On a personal note, having not really played since July, it was a much needed hit-out and I felt I got a lot out of it.
“We executed a lot of what we have been practising but there is plenty more to come from us.
“I believe we are capable of achieving great things in 2018 and we have three more games to test ourselves before the big kick-off.”
Featherstone still have three pre-season fixtures pencilled in against Halifax, York City Knights and Leeds Rhinos respectively this month.
