Anthony Gelling has provided us with some laughter over the years! Super League will miss him…

BIKING IT TO THE GOOD FRIDAY DERBY

Gelling turned up to the DW Stadium on a BMX ahead of the Good Friday clash against local rivals St Helens back in 2015.

The Warriors won the game and on his way back home, on his BMX, he was called over to a house party by a group of Wigan fans. The picture of them all was later posted on social media – what a legend!

CHARGING DOWN A PENALTY GOAL

Wigan faced Brisbane Broncos in the 2015 World Club Challenge and the game was close and went into extra-time. But Corey Parker sealed the win for the Australian outfit with a late penalty goal, but it took him two attempts!

Gelling, a Cook Islands international, charged down Parker’s first attempt and was correctly shown a yellow card and sent to the sin-bin. It was pointless but hilarious!

FUNNY VIDEOS ON SOCIAL MEDIA

The Kiwi got a degree while at Wigan in film and video production and was always making funny videos with his team-mates.

Gelling has made a lot of funny videos such as ‘The everyday struggles of life in the carpool, starring Ryan Sutton’ and ‘Its been an emotional day. Im just glad he got to see the first day of summer. Rest in love my little plant friend’. He even rapped on Wigan’s charity Wembley last season.

PIE SMASH

In the build-up to a highly anticipated Warrington Wolves and Wigan game in 2015, Wolves ace Chris Sandow was part of a PR video, titled ‘smash the pies’.

Well, Wigan thrashed Warrington 28-0 in the game and Gelling made his own version…

CELEBREATION AT WARRINGTON

He celebrated a try in typical Anthony Gelling fashion in another game at Warrington in 2016 when he did a six-gun salute after acrobatically going over the line!

He also ‘made it rain’ a couple of times with the money signs when going over for a try!

MAN OF THE PEOPLE

Gelling gained legendary status in a man of the match interview on Sky Sports. He swore LIVE on air, to which Sky apologised for but Gelling replied with ‘I’m speaking for everyone. I consider myself a ‘man of the people’.

The 27-year-old was known as the man of the people by the Warriors fans from then on.

Below are his bet bits… Super League will sure miss him!
