Challenge Cup first round – round-up

The Challenge Cup got underway at the weekend, as 40 community clubs started on the road to Wembley.

The BBC Sport cameras were at Rochdale Mayfield to see them defeat Crosfields 28-0, while in the London derby, the Chargers beat Hammersmith Hills Hoists 18-0.

Two games were settled by just one point – Normanton Knights defeating the Royal Navy 12-11 and Batley Boys winning 17-16 at Underbank Rangers.

There were notable wins for the British Army (48-10 over Milford Marlins), University of Hull (24-10 over Hensingham) and the Royal Air Force (12-4 over Drighlington).
