Quinlan expected back next week

Hull KR coach Tim Sheens expects Adam Quinlan to be available for selection for next weekend’s game against Salford.

Quinlan, 25, was a late withdrawal from the Robins squad for the 23-4 win over Catalans and was replaced by 18-year-old off-season signing Will Dagger.

Sheen told the club’s official website: “Adam pulled up with a slight twinge in his hamstring, and although he could have been cleared to play, there’d have been some fibre tears so we didn’t want to risk him on a cold night and a heavy pitch.

“It was nothing major so he could be back next week.

“Will finished the last session and although he’s only 18, he’s as confident as hell and he stepped up tonight.

“He’s the future for this club in my opinion and I can see him doing great things here in time.

“There’s a long way to go yet for him, just as there is for guys like Will Oakes.

“They’re not ready for 22 straight games in Super League just yet, but they’ll get their chances and we know they’ll do a job for us when we need them.”

Hull KR eased past the Dragons for their first win of the season, Dagger setting up the game’s first try for Ryan Shaw.

Mose Masoe, Shaun Lunt and Danny Tickle also crossed for the Robins, with Chris Atkin adding a drop goal to put icing on the cake at the end.
