Willie Isa signs new Wigan deal
Wigan have handed a three-year deal to forward Willie Isa.
Isa, 29, is in his third season with the Warriors after joining from Widnes, and won the Super League Grand Final in his first season.
He said: “Since I arrived at Wigan Warriors I’ve always said and will always say that it is an honour and a privilege to represent this club.”
Isa has made 71 appearances for Wigan, scoring six tries.
Coach Shaun Wane said: “Willie is up there as one of our best signings. His attitude, competitive nature and genuine toughness make him an outstanding team player who is loved by everyone at the club. The time he gives up for our young players is invaluable and proves what a great bloke he is.”
Isa came to the UK with Castleford in 2011 as an outside back, moving on to Widnes for 2012, where eventually he made the transition to the pack, making 87 appearances.
He previously played six games in the NRL for Melbourne Storm and Penrith Panthers.
Meanwhile, Wigan’s game against Salford has been brought forward to Friday May 4 (8pm kick-off).
