Sheffield have signed half-back Thibault Franck on a one-month loan deal from Hull KR.

The France Academy international joined the Rovers in the off-season after being a regular for Catalans Dragons’ Under-19s side this year.

Eagles coach Mark Aston is delighted to welcome Franck to the club.

He said: “I’m pleased we have been able to bring Thibault into the squad.

“We are light in the halves now with Simon (Brown) out with an injury he suffered at the Rochdale victory whilst Cory (Aston) has been recalled by Castleford.”

Rovers head coach Tim Sheens says the move is a good step up for Franck, who has been playing for the City of Hull Academy Under-19s team.

He said: “This is an excellent opportunity for Thibault to join a good club in Sheffield and challenge for regular game time in a tough competition over the next month.

“He’s been training with us full-time since joining the club in the off season, as well as working with the City of Hull Academy, but this is a step up for him.

“He needs to be playing as often as possible to continue his development and we’re looking forward to seeing him in action with the Eagles.”

Franck will go straight into contention ahead of the Eagles’ match against London Broncos on Sunday at the Olympic Legacy Park, 3pm kick-off.
