Leigh owner Derek Beaumont fined by RFL
Leigh owner Derek Beaumont has been fined £7,500 having been found guilty of breaching the Rugby Football League’s operational rules.
Beaumont has been fined £7,500 with £2,500 suspended until the end of the 2019 after being found guilty of breaching RFL regulations.
The Centurions chief pleaded guilty at an independent operational rules tribunal in relation to comments posted on social media.
According to the RFL, Beaumont was fined due to failing to adhere to codes of conduct, unacceptable behaviour and conducting prejudicial to the interests of the game and improper conduct.
Beaumont was also found guilty of breaching both the RFL’s respect policy and social media code of conduct.
He has the right to submit an appeal.
