Parramatta co-captain Beau Scott announces retirement

Parramatta co-captain Beau Scott has hung up his boots after picking up a season ending ACL injury earlier this year.

The 34-year-old made his NRL debut in 2005 for Cronulla Sharks and played for St George Illawarra Dragons and Newcastle Knights before joining the Eels in 2016.

Scott made 244 career appearances and is a Premiership winner as well as a former Australia and New South Wales representative.

The forward will look back on his career with fond memories.

He said: “I feel privileged to have played the great game of rugby league professionally for the past 14 years and I’m grateful for the opportunities and experiences that have come with it.

“I would like to thank all of the players, coaches and support staff who I have been associated with throughout my career.

“I’d like to acknowledge and thank all the fans and members who have supported me over such a long period.”

Eels coach Brad Arthur believes Scott will be a big miss to the team.

He said: “Beau is one of the most experienced members of the Parramatta Eels squad, he has always given his best and he’ll be sorely missed.”
