London captain Jay Pitts pens new contract

London skipper Jay Pitts has signed a two-year deal, keeping him in the capital until the end of 2020.

The 28-year-old joined the club ahead of the 2017 campaign and has not missed a single game since his arrival, having made over 50 appearances.

Pitts has recently become the assistant coach to Huw Goodwin with the Broncos Academy and is delighted to extend his stay.

He said: ”I am really glad to have tied up my career for the next two years.

“Danny Ward has shown great faith in me and it was all I could do to repay the favour.

“I am proud to lead this team and look forward to leading them through both good and, hopefully very few, bad times too.

“London has become my home over the last two seasons here and I want to take this opportunity to thank the chairman, the staff and the fans for believing in me.”

London coach Danny Ward is pleased to see Pitts extend his stay.

He said: “We are delighted that Pittsy has agreed to a new deal to stay at the club for another two years.

“He has been a consistent performer all season and is a bloke who leads from the front no matter what the situation.

“He is also playing an important role in the development of the next crop of youngsters progressing through the ranks at the London Broncos in his role as Under-19s assistant coach.”
