Challenge Cup round-up: Catalans cause chaos, Warrington run riot, Leeds women clinch Cup

What a weekend it was for the good old Challenge Cup.

Challenge Cup favourites St Helens were knocked out of the Challenge Cup after losing to Catalans Dragons 35-16 in the semi-finals at the University of Bolton Stadium.

Lewis Tierney, Ben Garcia (2) and Tony Gigot scored unanswered tries in the first half to take a 27-0 lead into half-time.

Saints came back into it in the second half thanks to tries from Mark Percival (2) and Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook, but Sam Moa sealed the win for Catalans with the last try of the game.

Warrington Wolves will play Catalans Dragons in the 2018 Challenge Cup final at Wembley after comfortably dispatching Leeds Rhinos 48-12 in the second semi-final in Bolton on Sunday.

Josh Charnley and Tom Lineham grabbed two tries each for the Wolves, while Kevin Brown scored the 150^thof his career on his 400^thappearance.

Ben Murdoch-Masila, George King and Bryson Goodwin scored Warrington’s other tries, while Ryan Hall and Adam Cuthbertson crossed for Leeds.

Steve Price will lead will lead the Wolves out at Wembley in his first season as a Super League coach.

In the women’s game, Leeds completed a late comeback to seal their first ever Women’s Challenge Cup title thanks to a 20-14 win over Castleford Tigers at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
