Simon Woolford: We are a tired footy team at the moment

Woolford’s Huddersfield Giants fell to a heavy defeat at the hands of the Castleford Tigers on Thursday evening and he claims his side are feeling fatigued.

In what was a tightly contested match-up for the best part of an hour – the Giants fell away towards the end.

Woolford said this on his sides performance:

“Midway through first half we were in contention but we put the ball out on the full and didn’t have possession again for the next 20 mins and it took a lot of juice out of us.”

“[we] Let some soft trys in late, which hasn’t been a feature of ours in recent past, which is disappointing.”

“We played must win games for 3 months and we were up for a long time. I think the second half of the Wakefied game took a lot out of us. I thought we bounced back okay v warringoton.”

“We just need to regroup and perform better next week.”

The Giants will face second placed Wigan next week – a game that could go a long way in deciding the final places in the Super8s table.
