Ben Crooks extends stay at Hull KR

Ben Crooks has penned a two-year contract extension with Hull KR.

The 25-year-old centre joined the Rovers from Leigh Centurions just before the end of the regular season and he helped the club secure their Super League status for 2019 via The Qualifiers.

Crooks, who is a former Super League Young Player of the Year and Dream Team member, has scored 65 tries in 136 career appearances.

On his new deal, Crooks said: “I have really enjoyed the last few months at the club, making sure we secured our status in Super League which is where Hull KR belong.

“The coaches and all of the boys have been great with me since arriving which made it easy to settle in and just concentrate on my rugby.

“I still think I have my best years ahead of me as a player and I’m excited for what the next few years here at Rovers brings both for me personally and the club.”

KR head coach Tim Sheens commented: “Ben was a significant late addition to the squad this season.

“His combination on the right edge with (Danny) McGuire, (Joel) Tomkins and (Craig) Hall certainly helped us with our Super League survival.

“He has settled in well at the club and I’m pleased to have secured him for the next two seasons.

“Ben is only 25, so for a player of his age he has a lot of experience which is a big positive when building a team for the future.”
