Tales from Tour: Millom ace Lee Postlethwaite raring to go for BARLA

After an admittedly slow start to the season, Millom’s Lee Postlethwaite is ready to hit the ground running for BARLA Lions in Fiji.

His club had a poor start to the year, but recovered sufficiently to launch a promotion push that just fell short.

“We got through to play-off final but unfortunately lost on golden point,” Postlethwaite said.

Postlethwaite enjoyed a prolific season for the South Cumbrian club, notching 10 tries and 93 goals in 21 games after making his BARLA Three Counties Championship debut for Cumbria last year.

“Fiji is a completely different world to back home, but not too bad!” Postlethwaite acknowledged, with the squad having arrived in Fiji.

After the team landed in Nadi, they were quickly into training, which actually suited Lee.

“It was good to get a blast and work the tired legs off that we got on the plane,” he commented.

“We are feeling fresher every day, but that first session was hot! It was humid and we got a sweat on! I think everyone enjoyed it though and we’ve prepared well for our first game.”

That first game sees the Lions take on Fiji West in Nadi on November 15.
