Jordan Tansey given chance to impress by Featherstone

Former Leeds and Hull utility Jordan Tansey has joined Featherstone on trial.

Tansey, 32, has 200 games under his belt during a nomadic career that started with promise at the Rhinos, where he scored 21 tries in 53 games.

That earned him a move to the NRL and Sydney Roosters, but he returned to Super League with Hull after just seven appearances Down Under.

After two years at Hull, he had his contract terminated following a disciplinary hearing and joined Crusaders, until their demise saw them drop out of the top flight.

A year at York followed before a relatively successful stint at Castleford. He moved on to Wakefield and then Huddersfield on loan, and in 2018 turned out for Workington.

He said: “I’ll bring some experience to some of the young lads in the backs, because I’ve been playing for ten years now.

“In that time there’s been a lot of highlights, like being part of the Leeds squad when we won Super League and making my debut in Australia.

“Now I’m looking to help Featherstone get up near the top and have a few highlights here.

“There’s been loads of different factors which have prevented me getting to my best level over the past couple of years, but I’m glad to have this fresh start and excited to get going.

“I’m going to put 100 percent in, to get back to my peak level.

“I’m 32, but I feel 26. I’ve still got plenty of running left in the legs and I can’t wait to get stuck into preseason.”
