An apology

In an article entitled “Ireland hunt new coaching team” published on March 15, 2011, we incorrectly stated that Terry O’Connor and Barrie McDermott had been relieved of their duties by Rugby League Ireland.

We wish to make clear that this was not the case and that the pair had not been employed, contracted or engaged in any capacity with Rugby League Ireland since 2008/2009.

We add our apologies for any distress caused to Mr O’Connor and Mr McDermott.

Their integrity and ability as coaches are not in doubt, and we wish them all the best in their current and any future employment.
