Asotasi “missing” from Samoa squad
Roy Asotasi was missing from the Samoa World Cup squad when it arrived in Warrington today.
Asotasi, 31, is set to make the town his permanent home from next season, having signed for the Wolves on a two-year deal from South Sydney Rabbitohs.
However, he failed to turn up for the team’s flight from Australia, and was absent as Matt Parish’s men arrived at the Village Hotel, their base for the tournament.
When asked on the forwards whereabouts and why he hadn’t travelled with the squad, Parish said: “You’ll need to ask Roy about that.”
But he said he had 24 young players who were “committed to the Samoa cause.”
Asotasi has previously played at international level for New Zealand.
