Avignon sign Ireland prop Pat Moran
Ireland international Pat Moran has joined Avignon for the French Elite One Championship season.
The 22-year-old came through the ranks at Warrington and enjoyed time on loan at Sheffield and Rochdale before joining Widnes in 2020. Moran had agreed to sign for Ottawa Aces before the Canadian club postponed their entry to League 1.

Moran said: “I’ve always wanted to play rugby in another country and Christophe (Jouffret) gave me the opportunity to come to France. I’ve heard a lot about this Championship.
“Personally, I want to enjoy playing rugby again – I haven’t played rugby for over a year because of the Covid. Collectively, I hope we win a lot of games.”
Moran will be hoping to represent Ireland at the World Cup later this year.
