Baitieri out for season
Catalan forward Jason Baitieri has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.
Baitieri, 23, suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament injury during the 28-20 defeat to Huddersfield on Saturday night.
Following consultations with specialists, the France international will now undergo surgery next week.
A club spokesman said: “It’s a new really bad news for the team. Jason is a valuable player on and off the field, who has worked really hard to become one of the leaders in the team.
“But the team has so far always bounced back and I know we will find the strength to overcome this new injury.”
The Dragons remain without scrum half Scott Dureau, who will resume full training this week, and Kiwi full back Brent Webb, out with a back injury – both long-term injury absentees.
