Barrow announce new Head Coach

Barrow Raiders RLFC have announced that Darren Holt will take the reigns as new Head Coach of the club with Phil Atkinson appointed as his assistant.

Veteran half back Holt, who has spent the last two seasons playing for Workington, will team up with retired Barrow legend Phil Atkinson as the Raiders bid to return to the Championship.

Barrow were docked 29 points when they breached RFL Operational Rules earlier in the season which saw them relegated to Championship 1 for the 2012 season.

Holt, now 35, has previously had spells with Whitehaven and more recently Workington but announced that he would hang up his boots at the end of the 2011 season.

Atkinson joined the Raiders when he was 18 years old and spent 14 seasons with the club before hanging up his boots in 2007.
