Barrow half-back banned for eight matches
Barrow half-back Lewis Charnock has been handed an eight-match ban for a tackle that resulted in a season-ending injury.
Charnock, 24, was handed a Grade F charge of dangerous contact in the first minute of the Raiders’ 30-18 defeat to Sheffield at the Summer Bash.
The recipient of the tackle, Sheffield centre James Glover, suffered severe knee ligament damage and is expected to be sidelined for nine to 12 months.
The former St Helens youngster pleaded guilty and apologised to his opponent, and was also fined £250.
