Barrow Raiders boosted by Salford pair on loan
Barrow Raiders have signed Salford pair Amir Bourouh and James Greenwood on short-term deals ahead of their trip to York on Sunday.
The Super League duo join Paul Crarey’s squad on an initial one-week loans.
Barrow travel to the LNER Community Stadium on Sunday for Round Four in search for their first win of the Championship season.
Salford shared on social media: “Amir Bourouh and James Greenwood have joined our dual-registration partners, Barrow Raiders on a one-week loan deal that will see them play in their visit to York!
“Best of luck, lads.”
Bourouh, 22, joined the Red Devils from Wigan ahead of the 2022 campaign on an initial two-year deal, with the option of a third. The Huddersfield-born dummy-half made his Super League debut with the Warriors back in 2019.
Last season, he made seven appearances for Salford. He also featured for London Broncos in 2022 on loan.
He joins Barrow’s squad following the injury to hooker Josh Wood. The 27-year-old former Wakefield man will be sidelined for up to two months, having left the field in the opening stages of the 36-16 defeat to Sheffield. The game also marked his 100th career appearance.
Greenwood, 31, has been at Salford since 2020, having joined from Hull KR. He previously enjoyed a loan spell with the club in 2015 while with Wigan.
In total, he has made 23 appearances for the AJ Bell Stadium side.
