Barrow swoop for Bauer
Barrow have signed former Hull KR and New Zealand Warriors three-quarter Andreas Bauer from Doncaster.
Bauer, 26, was released by the Dons due to their impending administration, which has also seen the departures of several other players, including Paul Handforth, Kyle Briggs and Ross Divorty.
Barrow Chairman Des Johnston said: “Andreas is a very useful addition to the squad and having also played at hooker will give Dave Clark more options throughout the team. He is someone we have been tracking as a possible signing since last season when he impressed against us.
“The injury to Liam Campbell has shown that we need to strengthen the squad as we get to the business end of the season. He is a tough tackling player with a bit of flair and pace to his game which should make him a real crowd pleaser.”
Bauer played with Raiders centre Zeb Luisi at Doncaster and will be available for selection for the Raiders’ Northern Rail Cup Quarter Final against Dewsbury at Craven Park on Saturday.
