Bennett encouraged by England experience
Wayne Bennett says he is full of enthusiasm for the England team and believes in the national team.
Bennett has spoked for the first time after the Four Nations.
The head coach has emphasised his determination in the role.
“The Four Nations gave me an opportunity to get to know the players and the coaches really well,” Bennett told Sporting Life.
“I think the England team is full of high quality, committed people. The country has been close for a number of years and it is my job to get us to take that final step.
“It’s an old saying but it still holds true, that if we always do what we’ve always done, then we shouldn’t be surprised if we achieve the same results.
“Everything we are doing is designed to improve the players for club and country.
“I can’t guarantee that my ideas will prove enough but I can be sure that if we don’t try them we will not succeed.
“I am full of enthusiasm for the project, I believe in this group and I think the Super League competition is producing world class rugby league players.
“I have spoken to a number of coaches in England and I know and appreciate their sense of pride and passion.
“I am grateful for the assistance, support and co-operation of the clubs helping England to get to the next level.”
