Blake Austin showed his true class to kick drop goal, says Steve Price

Warrington coach Steve Price praised Blake Austin after he nailed a drop goal that saw his side take the spoils from Castleford.

Austin kicked a last minute drop goal to seal a 9-8 win for the Wolves against the Tigers at the Halliwell Jones Stadium on Friday night.

Price said: “When Blake missed his first attempt it just goes to show what type of a player he is.

“He never went in his shell, he said give me the ball and we go again and he nailed it… it just goes to show he’s a quality player under pressure.

“It goes to show we have a group who really care about each other and the town and supporters and that’s a performance which is a standard we need to reach every week.

“I thought it was a tough end to end game of rugby and defensively I thought we were back to our best to keep them to one try, which was a tough call.

“That’s the level of consistency we are trying to chase and we have a good opportunity next week to go to Hull and put in another strong performance.”
