Briggs joins Sheffield

Featherstone Rovers have confirmed that Kyle Briggs has left the club, and joined Sheffield Eagles on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

Featherstone Rovers can confirm that Kyle Briggs has left the club and joined Kingstone Press Championship side Sheffield Eagles on a permanent two and a half year contract. Kyle has recently completed a successful one month loan at Dewsbury Rams where he made four appearances scoring two tries.

Briggs was recently on loan at Dewsbury Rams, where he scored two tries in four appearances.

The halfback has played for Fev in two spells, and has 81 Rovers appearances to his credit. He has scored 45 tries for Fev, and kicked 186 goals in his time there.

Featherstone Rovers Chairman Mark Campbell said: “Kyle has been a popular player both in the changing room and with supporters. He’s been involved in some memorable moments in a Rovers shirt which will fondly remembered such as his performance against Castleford in the Challenge Cup.

“He’s been a versatile player and always gave 100% whilst at the club and bounced back well from injury. We’d like to thank Kyle for his service and wish him well for his future career at Sheffield Eagles. Kyle and his family will always be welcome back to the Big Fellas Stadium.”
