Broncos bash Batley
London have picked up their first Super 8s victory in dramatic style, smashing Batley 76-16 in Ealing.
After falling to Leigh last weekend, the Broncos put fellow Championship side Batley to the sword in the capital.
Jamie Soward finished with 24 points as London blew the Bulldogs off the park.
The Broncos were 32-0 in front at half-time and piled on 46 more points in the second half.
Rhys Williams and Iliess Macani both claim hat-tricks as Batley was embarassed.
The defeat was a second straight loss for the Bulldogs in the Super 8s.
Batley next face Huddersfield at home while London will host Leeds in the capital.
Broncos coach Andrew Henderson said it was a “brilliant team performance from 1-17”.
“We challenged the players to be better than they were last week, and today they certainly were,” he said.
“I thought it was an incredible all round performance today, considering we faced some adversity.
“Our bench was down to 1 player with 20 minutes to go. A number of players had to play out of position, which can be disruptive, but we saw no signs of that today as the players adapted extremely well.
“With the ball, we were disciplined, ran hard, executed well, and were clinical in our finishing.
“We scored some scintillating tries, and the fans would have enjoyed some fantastic rugby league football today.
“Defensively we fronted up well for large parts of the game, but our attacking prowess was spectacular today.
“It’s hard to single people out in such a strong team performance, but I thought Mark Ioane really lead from the front in our middle.
“Jamie Soward’s game management was excellent, and James Cunningham, who played four different positions on the day, was very good.
“Lewis Bienek deserves a special mention on his first team debut, he did a solid job, and didn’t look out of place against a formidable Batley pack.”
