Broncos still battling for top four according to Thackray
London Broncos forward Jamie Thackray still believes that the club can finish in the top four of the Champioship, and secure a place in the middle eights this season.
London lost 36-18 to Bradford at the weekend, but Thanckray was encouraged by the spirit shown in defeat.
“Everyone is having a dig now and team spirit is good, even today we got beaten but there’s bits to work on and we know we’re not far off,” he told his club’s official website.
“We can beat any team when we play at our potential, last week against Sheffield we got a complete performance so what we have to do now is keep working and each week get better. The top four is still not out of the question.
“We’re playing the Champions next week and I’m sure training will be 100 miles-per-hour this week, everyone is fighting for places.
“Hendo (Andrew Henderson) has brought in more players and everyone knows if you don’t perform you won’t get in the team.
“We’ll go into the game with confidence; every team we’ve play lately we’ve started well and we’ve gone a couple of tries up but we’ve let let teams back in with mistakes and penalties, if we can knock that on the head who knows what can happen.
“We’ve had Matt Davis come in recently and Jonny Walker came into the side against Bradford and showed what he can do, I thought he carried really well today.
“There’s pressure to get in the team now so there’s no use moping about and sulking you’ve just go to go out on the field and take it.”
