Canterbury 24-12 Cronulla

Canterbury recovered from last week¹s defeat against the Titans to record a morale-boosting 24-12 victory over Cronulla.

Bryson Goodwin took advantage of some poor defending to race in for the Bulldogs¹ first try before veteran winger Hazem El Masri got their second.

Skipper Andrew Ryan extended his side¹s lead to 18-0 following a neat offload from Chris Armit although the Sharks finally woke from their slumber and registered a score through Anthony Topou to make it 18-6 at the break.

Things looked up for the Sharks following the restart with skipper Paul Gallen darted over from dummy half but the Bulldogs snuffed out any chance of a comeback thanks to a score from former Dragon Josh Morris.
