Castleford back on top
Castleford Tigers moved back to the top the Betfred Super League with a 43-26 home win over Catalan Dragons on Sunday.
The Tigers were looking to put last week’s defeat at Salford behind them, but it was the visitors who made the early running.
Tries by Iain Thornley and Richie Myler put the home side on the back foot, before Luke Walsh added a penalty to make it 14-0 to the Dragons.
Zak Hardaker and Grant Millington brought the Tigers back into it, and the comeback was completed less than 10 minutes before the break when Joel Mongahan added a third try.
Greg Eden grabbed his ninth try of the season soon after to send the Tigers in at the break 22-14 ahead.
A converted Louis Anderson try drew the Dragons to within two points early in the second half, but Castleford quickly turned on the style to put the result beyond doubt.
Junior Moors and Michael Shenton added further tries, before Eden bagged his second of the game.
Vincent Duport scored late on for the Dragons, but the Tigers eased home to claim a comfortable 43-26 victory.
