Castleford forward Daniel Smith heads to the Championship
Castleford forward Daniel Smith has made the short-term loan move to Championship outfit Featherstone with immediate effect.
Smith, 30, has featured fives times for the Tigers so far this campaign. Four of those came from the bench, with one start.
He will link up with Sean Long’s Featherstone with immediate effect on a two-week deal. Smith has previously made four appearances for the side.
Featherstone currently sit at the top of the Championship table, having claimed nine wins from as many games so far in their 2023 league campaign.
They host Sheffield this Sunday in Round 10.
Prop forward Smith has made 135 Super League career appearances to date, crossing for 12 tries.
He linked up with the Mend-A-Hose Jungle side in 2019 from Huddersfield, have also previously been with South Sydney Rabbitohs and Wakefield.
Smith remains without a contract for 2023 alongside a handful of his Castleford team-mates, including Jordan Turner, Liam Watts and Joe Westerman.
