St Helens duo Joe Batchelor and Sione Mata’utia both left the field in side’s win over Warrington for head assessments. The pair look certain to miss Saturday’s trip to Toulouse in round six.
Alex Walmsley also left the field in the second half with a hamstring injury, while Kristian Woolf will also check on the fitness of Jack Welsby.
For Warrington, Daryl Clark and prop Rob Mulhern left the field in their defeat at the Totally Wicked Stadium on Friday.
Hull latest
Joe Cator has vowed to come back bigger and better than ever. The 23-year-old had returned to action for the first time in seven months in Thursday night’s 31-8 win at Leeds.
It was supposed to be a joyous occasion for Cator. However, the forward suffered a recurrence of the same Achilles injury that he had kept him out for so long.
Jamie Shaul, Kane Evans and Chris Satae all failed to finish the game after picking up minor leg injuries.
Iain Thornley provides update
Wigan centre Iain Thornley has provided an update on the injury that his kept him sidelined since round one.
The 30-year-old picked up an ankle injury following an Albert Vete tackle at Hull KR in the opening weekend.
He told Wigan’s official website: “It’s going well. I was in a medical boot for two or three weeks but I’m out of that and at the halfway point now.
“I’m ticking boxes each week and so far so good. Hopefully I can get back soon, put the injury behind me and get on with the season with the lads.”
Ethan Havard and Bevan French travelled to France to continue their training with the rest of the squad. The latter could return for Wigan in an upcoming Challenge Cup fixture, head coach Matt Peet confirmed.
Dan Sarginson and Harvey Livett
Salford head coach Paul Rowley provided an update on Dan Sarginson and Harvey Livett last week during his press conference.
The side were missing Greg Burke in their defeat to Hull KR due to a failed head test the previous week.
He said: “Good news on (Dan) Sarginson; he could potentially be back in three to four weeks.
“Harvey Livett could be another two months. His goes from bad to worse. He’s the long-term one.”
