Catalan keep Pelissier

Hooker Eloi Pelissier has signed a new two-year deal with Catalan.

Pelissier, 22, has made 81 Super League appearances since making his debut in 2011 and was attracting attention from other clubs.

He said: “I love the club, it’s my hometown club, and I’m very happy and proud to stay here for the next two seasons.

“I’ve had talks with Laurent Frayssinous and Bernard Guasch and it was important for me to feel their full support and confidence.”

The France international made three appearances at last autumn’s World Cup.

Dragons coach Laurent Frayssinous said: “I’m delighted that Eloi has signed a new contract to stay with the club after an outstanding season for him so far.

“He is a local product and he represents the future of the club.” 

“He had a great opportunity this season and he showed he could be one of the best hooker in the Super League.

“He is a very talented young player who shows great desire to be the best but he needs to keep working hard.
