Catalans playmaker Lucas Albert to join Carcassonne at end of season
Catalans half-back Lucas Albert will join French Elite 1 Championship side Carcassonne at the end of the Super League season.
The 22-year-old was born in Carcassonne and will link up with the Canaries once the Dragons’ season has ended.
Albert made his Super League debut for Catalans as a 17-year-old, making 55 appearances for the club so far.
The half-back, who can also play at hooker, has earned three caps for France and represented his country at the Nines World Cup last year.
A Carcassonne statement read: “The rumour had been going around for a few days, but nothing was signed.
“Tonight it’s done, Lucas Albert has initialed his contract. The young Catalans Dragons player will return to his favourite club as soon as the Dragons’ season has ended.”
