Champ & L1: Halifax recruit Tibbs, Dewsbury land Chapman-Smith & Workington make double signing

A wrap up of the latest news in the Championship and League 1.

Championship

Dewsbury have signed full-back or half-back Reece Chapman-Smith for the 2021 season. The 22-year-old came through the ranks at Leeds and has spent time with Halifax. The Rams have also confirmed that Sam Moorhouse has left the club.

Former Scotland international Brett Carter has signed a new one-year deal with Whitehaven. The 32-year-old joined Haven from his hometown club Barrow ahead of the 2020 campaign.

Halifax have signed young back Ben Tibbs from Huddersfield on a one-year contract. Tibbs becomes Fax’s seventh new signing ahead of 2021.

Leigh have announced that prop Adam Walker has left the club with immediate effect.

Leigh have signed promising utility Craig Mullen on a permanent deal from Wigan for 2021.

Oldham have signed former Widnes winger Ryan Ince on a one-year contract.

London Broncos have retained captain Will Lovell and fellow academy product Sadiq Adebiyi for 2021.

League 1

Workington have signed hooker Matty Henson from Egremont Rangers for 2021. Town have also announced the signing of former Hensingham and Whitehaven forward Jordan Thomson.

Rhys Clarke will spend his 10th season as a Newcastle Thunder player in 2021 after signing a new deal to remain at Kingston Park. The 29-year-old has made more than 140 appearances for Thunder.

Keighley have signed utility back Bobby Darbyshire following his departure from Wakefield. The 19-year-old joins his hometown club for 2021.
