A wrap up of the latest news in the Championship and League 1.
Championship
London Broncos have promoted five academy players to their first-team for 2021 – Jonah Verella, Josh Hodson, Will Blakemore, Rob Oakley and Jacob Jones.
The signings of the five players will take the homegrown element of Danny Ward’s squad to around 70% ahead of next season.
Ward said: “We believe in producing our own players and a squad made up of over 70% of homegrown lads is something we are immensely proud of.”
Sheffield have signed former Hull FC winger Mike Adlard on a one-year contract. Adlard returns to league after having a spell with Hull Rugby Union.
Sheffield coach Mark Aston said: “Mike has been out of the sport for a couple of years. He was full-time with Hull before playing at a decent level of rugby union.
“He is another good kid with massive amounts of potential. While being rather big and strong, he has great feet and can play at full-back too.”
