Championship One Preview: Oldham v South Wales Scorpions
Oldham coach Scott Naylor is without Danny Langtree for Sunday’s Kingstone Press Championship One fixture against South Wales Scorpions.
The second-rower has been outstanding this year but is suspended after submitting an early guilty plea to a charge of punching.
Adam Files (knee) is also ruled out as Oldham attempt to bounce back from last week’s 44-32 defeat against Hemel Stags – a loss that left Naylor looking at his squad’s desire.
Naylor said: “Rugby league is too hard, too tough and too intense for anybody to go into a game without having the right attitude.”
South Wales Scorpions coach Mike Grady is aiming for a second win of the season after getting off the mark against London Skolars last week.
But Grady insists there is no pressure on his side. He said: “We’ve got a fantastic spirit, the lads are having a laugh together and it was great to get the win.
“Hopefully we can kick-start from here, but if we don’t perform against Oldham then it doesn’t mean anything.
“The pressure’s not on us though, so we can just go out and enjoy ourselves.”
Phil Carleton should return for the Scorpions.
