Championship Preview: Halifax v Whitehaven (Sun)
Halifax coach Karl Harrison is unlikely to make widespread changes to his team for Sunday’s Kingstone Press Championship match with Whitehaven.
Sam Barlow, Callum Casey and Rikki Sheriffe are all in contention, but are not guaranteed to return as Harrison aims for a fourth consecutive league victory.
Whitehaven coach Dave Woods travels with a full-strength squad, insisting his men must start with a high tempo and determination to ‘pressure’ their hosts.
Woods said: “It’s a big challenge. We know Halifax are very good and we need to work hard, but we’re doing all right.
“We’re playing some good footy and picking up the wins at home, which is important.
“We need to keep doing that, and we need a bonus point as a minimum this week.”
He added: “You’ve got to put a bit of pressure on teams like Halifax and try to make them come up with some errors.
“You’ve got to be very strong and hope they have a bit of an off-day. We’ll certainly give it everything we’ve got.”
