Championship Preview: Hunslet Hawks v Sheffield Eagles

Hunslet Hawks coach Barry Eaton will give late fitness tests to Jimmy Watson (ankle) and Luke Helliwell (ribs) ahead o Wednesday’s Kingstone Press Championship match with Sheffield Eagles.

However, Eaton will definitely be without Danny Grimshaw, who has been ruled out for six to 10 weeks with an ankle problem. 

Eaton said: “We seem to be getting every team that’s on a winning run and flying.

“Batley were in great form last week and Sheffield are also going well. It’s a good challenge for us.

“Sheffield have proved over the last month that they’re where they probably ant to be, and they’re the team that everyone needs to challenge this year.”

Eagles coach Mark Aston has doubts over Misi Taulapapa (ankle) and Michael Knowles (dead leg).

Vinny Finigan and Nev Morrison are both pushing hard to be included in Sheffield’s squad.
