Championship round-up: Toronto table toppers, London score for fun, Kheirallah on fire
All six games in the Championship were high scoring on the weekend.
Featherstone Rovers put in an impressive performance to ease past Sheffield Eagles 40-6 at the Olympic Legacy Park. Jack Ormondroyd featured for Rovers on dual-registration from Leeds Rhinos, while St Helens duo Jake Spedding and Adam Swift played for the Eagles.
Toronto Wolfpack ran in 12 tries to thrash Barrow Raiders 64-0 at Lamport Stadium. The Canadian club have now won 16 of their last 18 games. Liam Kay, Blake Wallace and Nick Rawsthorne scored two tries each for Toronto.
Leigh Centurions kept pressure on the top four clubs with an emphatic 58-12 victory over Dewsbury Rams at the Tetley’s Stadium. Drew Hutchison and Craig Hall bagged braces for Leigh, while Robbie Ward scored both of Dewsbury’s tries.
Chester Butler put in a man of the match performance to help Halifax comfortably beat Batley Bulldogs 50-12 at the MBI Shay. Brandon Moore scored two tries for Fax.
London Broncos ran in 10 tries to complete a dominating 58-22 win over Swinton Lions at Trailfinders Sports Ground. Malta international Jarrod Sammut scored two tries for the Broncos, while Wigan youngster Joe Brown scored a hat-trick for the Lions. Wigan starlets Craig Mullen and Josh Ganson also featured for Swinton.
France star Mark Kheirallah racked up a tally of 26 points from nine goals and two tries to help Toulouse Olympique brush Rochdale Hornets aside with a 70-14 scoreline. William Barthau completed a hat-trick for Olympique, while Constantine Mika and Mourad Kriouache also scored two each.
Toronto, Toulouse, Featherstone and Halifax are in the top four, with London and Leigh being just one point behind fourth-placed Fax in the table.
