Championship trio fined for social media abuse
Three players with Kingstone Press Championships clubs have been found guilty of breaching RFL Operational Rules with comments made on social media networks.
Ewan Dowes and Jamie Thackray of Workington Town and York City Knights player Tom Carr have all been fined after the RFL found them guilty of abusing match officials.
All three players were found to be in breach of Operational Rule D1.8 (c) (Improper Conduct), Operational Rule D1.10 (1) (Criticism of Officials) and the sport’s Respect Policy.
Dowes was fined £200 (£100 suspended) and Carr was fined £100 (£50 suspended) for inappropriate tweets. Thackray had a suspended £100 fine imposed for re-tweeting Dowes’s tweet.
