Championship: Widnes suffer heavy defeat to Featherstone & Bradford bounce back
Featherstone Rovers defeated Widnes 74-6 in the Championship, with Luke Briscoe claiming a hat-trick.
It was a big day for Craig Hall, who scored two tries and kicked 11 goals in the victory to pass 2,000 career points. He was joined on the scoresheet by Jack Bussey, Connor Jones, Jesse Sene-Lefao, John Davies, Morgan Smith (2) and Briscoe (3).

Bradford bounce back
Bradford Bulls bounced back from their defeat last Monday with a 34-22 victory over Whitehaven. Earlier this week, the Odsal Stadium side parted ways with head coach John Kear by mutual consent. Bulls crossing through Joe Burton (2), Elliot Kear, Jordan Lilley, Thomas Doyle and Ebon Scurr.

On Friday night’s only game, Leigh Centurions claimed a 34-6 home win over Sheffield Eagles. Tries from Adam Sidlow, Ben Reynolds, Ed Chamberlain, Keanan Brand, Sam Stone and James McDonnell.
On Saturday, Halifax Panthers defeated Newcastle Thunder 30-10. Simon Grix’s have now won six games so far in 2022, while Newcastle have just eight points on the table.
Back to Sunday, Batley Bulldogs secured the two league points with a 16-10 victory over Workington Town. They fought back in the second half, having fallen 10-6 behind at the break. Tries from Lucas Walshaw, Josh Hodson and Dane Manning.
London Broncos claimed their first win of the season with a 36-12 home victory over Dewsbury Rams. The hosts had led 22-0 at half-time.
