Premier Sports Performance of the Week – Barrow Raiders

Barrow Raiders climbed off the bottom of the Kingstone Press Championship with a tense 26-24 victory at York in a match shown live on Premier Sports.

Kurt Haggerty‘s successful penalty snatched the points with the last kick of the game.

Barrow coach Darren Holt said: “It was the perfect way to answer the critics and luckily it was on TV as well, so every Barrow supporter will have seen that and they will have enjoyed a really close game.

“Not many teams have come to York this year and won.”

Premier Sports Try of the Week – Callum Phillips (Workington Town)

In-form Workington playmaker Callum Phillips finished off a flowing Town move for a crucial try in their 22-6 win over Dewsbury Rams.

Town were just six points ahead going into half-time when they broke from deep inside their own half.

Joint coach Gary Charlton said: “From our own 20, Adam Lawton fed Andy Morris to get away on the outside.

“He drew the full-back and offloaded to Lawton who was backing up. We he was caught he passed to Phillips who raced in beside the posts.”
